Acai Berry for Weight Loss
My DP and I are going to the Amazon in April and while doing some "Google" research, stumbled across this ad / blog for the Acai Berry...which comes from the Amazon Rainforest. I haven't heard of this weight loss tool before, and am really curious what your thoughts are, good / bad / otherwise If you've tried it, would like to know your feedback. Thanks!!!

no, it's not a weight loss wonder. It's currently being promoted with a colon cleanser and is just another sham. Acai is a nice anti-oxidant as well as blueberries, goji berries, raspberries, logan berries, etc.....you get the idea. It's more succesful for those at the top of most of the network marketing companies rather than its benefit to weight loss.

The people promoting this berry are spamming me via my blog trying to get me to run articles they've submitted promoting their product. They also buy google ads and change the URL every time I block them, so it is very hard to keep them from reappearing. Scam. Scam. Scam.

i haven't seen this scam but i believe what everyone else has said. i have had acai in Brazil and here in the US. Acai straight can have a somewhat tart flavor, but is often combined with other fruits (bananas or strawberries) and a heavy dose of sugar and pureed into a pudding like consistency in Brazil. there is a brand here in the US called Sambazon that sells acai-you can find it in the freezer section. it is pronounced "ah-sigh-ee"

I'm generally not a sucker for scams, but it was on this woman's personal weight loss blog, and so I didn't consider it to be paid advertising. What tipped me off is when on her blog, she said, "I THINK they're still giving away free samples...." So I clicked the hyperlink and sure enough, they were giving away "free" samples, but only for the next "5-minutes" and the clock was ticking... I found the terms and conditions for the "free sample" and if I paid the $5.00 shipping and gave them my credit card, could get the 2-week sample. BUT I would have to call by a certain date and time to cancel that order, or else my credit card would be charged $80 per month for the berry pills AND I would have to pay a "program registration fee" of $30...blah-blah-blah. That kind of ticked me off- Thanks for your feedback everyone.

I have seen those scams too for the acai along with the colon cleanser. I don't believe acai berry to be a miracle weight loss fruit, but it is very beneficial in so many other ways. IF you get it from the right source. It loses a lot of its benefit if its processed the traditional ways. I drank a popular Acai juice for a couple months over the holidays and I can testify that I slept better then I have in my entire life! I also didn't gain one single pounds over the holidays, and thats a miracle in itself. My BIL has been off his heart burn pills that he has been leashed to for over 10 years.
